Need help starting monk.
Well after alot of thought i have decided that i want to make a monk. I have been stuck to rangers but i need to branch out. I was looking through the weps trying to figure out what the best combos for a healing monk was and i read that the Scar Eater was the best monks weapon in the game. Is it true? I want to be a healing monk for now but before i drop the money on a weapon i would like to know. Is the Scar Eater the best healing monk weapon in the game? If not, what is a better choice and why is it better. TY so much to anyone who helps me out.
P.S. And what is a good offhand? |

ehhh weapons arent that much of a matter, a collecters staff or wand is good enough for me. But the scar eater has a Divine Favor req. It is good, but seeing how the scar eater and Gardocks staff have same req, and gardocks staff has a pretty +5 ene and 20% longer Enchanting mod too it I would go with that one, but like i said before it doesnt matter what weapon or weapons you have. If you don't want to drop any cash, get a collecters staff.
(PS i always perfer more energy than 20/20 but its really up to you on what one to get) Hope this helps. Nick Last edited by Nick The Nicker; Jun 23, 2006 at 09:37 AM // 09:37.. |

Well, you could use a +5 energy sword with +30 health. Or a wayward wand (healing prayers). As offhands, I personally like the Stoneheart.
I'd rather go with a wand/sword plus offhand than a staff, but that's just me. |

with my monk i don't really care about the weapon, but about the mods - we're in a party to heal, not to fight. atm i've got the wenslaus' faith, which is ok.. but i'd have to go with nick and advise u take collector stuff. in this bling-bling generation we're stuck in ppl get all excited about gold items and their perfect mods, but the collector stuff is just as good, if not better:P

Maxiemonster created a huge thread on a Protective Boon monk, which is it's own sense is a healing build.
It has tactics, armor, skills, items and oodles of more information. I highly suggest reading it, as it has been such a helpful source along with the comments in that thread. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s....php?t=3041277 Enjoy. |

Another possobility is the fire wand outside of nolani acadamy (prophicies) that has +5 energy no matter what. So if your not going to be attacking that is a viable choice.

You could always use the fiery flame spitter I have one with an enchantment mod on it but but with out it it still works seeing as healing doesn't really use much enchants.
